How it works

Ready in three steps

  1. 1Enter the brand and the niche“Mila, handmade ceramics, Lisbon”. The city and the craft give the AI material for variants when the plain name is taken.
  2. 2Check availabilityThe generator cannot see which names are taken. Type your favourites into Instagram search or the username field in Edit profile.
  3. 3Say it out loudWould a customer spell it right after hearing it once? If you need to explain “two l’s and an underscore”, pick another.

What makes it work

Short and pronounceable

A handle people remember after one mention gets tagged more often. Aim for under 15 characters where possible.

Avoid confusing periods and underscores

“mila_ceramics” and “mila.ceramics” are different accounts. Use one separator at most, and never two in a row.

Same handle everywhere

Before you settle, check the same name on TikTok, Threads and your domain. One handle across networks is easier to find and to print on packaging.

Questions

What characters can an Instagram username have?

Letters, numbers, periods and underscores, up to 30 characters. Spaces and other symbols are not allowed, and a username cannot end with a period.

Can I write the username in Cyrillic?

No, usernames use Latin letters. Your Name field can be in any language, so put the Russian or local spelling there.

What if all the ideas are taken?

Add your city, your craft or a verb like “makes” or “by”. Generate again with a different keyword for a fresh set of 8.

Can I change my username later?

Yes, in Edit profile. Old links and tags with the previous name will stop leading to you, and someone else may take the old name, so change it rarely.

Username or Name: which one matters more?

Both show in search. The username is your address; the Name field is where a keyword like “ceramics” or “barber” helps people find you.
