Boosted post

A boosted post is a regular post you pay a network to show to more people than it would reach organically.

A boosted post is an ordinary post from your feed that you pay to show to a wider or more specific audience. It is the simplest form of social media advertising: you pick a post, a budget, a duration and a rough audience, and the network does the rest. Full ad campaigns offer more control over goals, placements and creative formats.

For a small business, boosting is a quick way to push content that already works. If a post is getting strong reactions organically, a small budget can extend its life to people nearby or to lookalikes of your followers. Boosting a weak post usually just buys expensive indifference.

Example: a pizzeria sees that its video about a new menu item gets many shares. It boosts the video for a week to people within a few kilometres of the restaurant and adds a clear “Order now” button.

A good rule: boost posts that already perform well organically, set one clear goal (messages, visits, clicks), and compare the cost of each lead with your average order value.
