What it is
Christmas Eve is 24 December, the evening before Christmas Day in the Western (Catholic and Protestant) tradition. In many countries it is the main family evening, with dinners, church services, last preparations and, in some places, the opening of gifts.
For businesses it is a short, emotional window: many people are still finishing their shopping in the morning, and by the evening they want calm and warm messages, not loud promotions.

Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Left: the beautifully wrapped gift you imagined. Right: a present in a plastic bag at the last minute. Show that your store or service solves exactly this.
- Countdown panic. A caption like “Me at 3 p.m. on 24 December” with a funny reaction image. Follow it with your fast gift option, so the joke leads to a useful action.
What to avoid
- Do not send a hard sales push in the evening; it is a family time, and a quiet greeting works better
- Do not forget that some followers observe different dates or do not celebrate; keep the greeting inclusive and warm
- Do not promise delivery before Christmas that you cannot keep; be exact about cut-off times
When to post
- Publish the gift and hours posts one to three days ahead, with a reminder on the morning of 24 December
- Schedule the evening greeting for the late afternoon so the team can be offline
- On 26 December, move to post-holiday content such as returns, exchanges or sales
What to check afterwards
- Orders or gift card purchases on 23–24 December compared with other days
- Link clicks to the gift list and holiday hours
- Replies and shares on the evening greeting
