What it is
Defender of the Fatherland Day is a public holiday in Russia held on 23 February. Its roots go back to the Soviet-era Red Army Day, and today it is a day off that honours military service and, in everyday life, is widely celebrated as an informal men’s day with gifts and greetings.
For businesses it is a major gift-sales moment in Russia and in some neighbouring countries where the tradition continues. This page is relevant only for audiences that celebrate it. Tone matters: most people use the day for warm greetings to fathers, partners, colleagues and friends.
Symbols: Greeting cards, a thermos or a multi-tool as a typical gift, a festive table, flowers and thank-you notes

23 February is close, so we have prepared a short gift list in three price ranges: useful things for work, travel and home. Open the catalogue from the menu button, choose a range and write to us if you need help picking for a father, a partner or a colleague. Orders placed before the date in the pinned message arrive in time.
Looking for a gift that is not another mug? Give a man a month of training. Our gift certificate comes in a nice envelope and can be used for group classes or a session with a coach. We will help you choose the format that suits his level. Message us, and we will tell you how to get the certificate before 23 February.
Congratulations to all men on 23 February! If you want to give something useful, we suggest a certificate for a car check-up: diagnostics, tyre inspection and a short report on the condition. It is practical, and any driver will appreciate it. Message us to arrange the details and a convenient date for the visit.
What to avoid
- Do not use military imagery, weapons or war-related jokes in your promotion; keep the tone warm, civil and respectful towards veterans and servicemen
- Do not reduce men to stereotypes such as “only beer and fishing”; give real, useful gift ideas
- Do not post the greeting to audiences for whom the holiday does not exist, and use a neutral “gifts for men” angle there
When to post
- Publish the gift guide one to two weeks ahead and set the last-order date for delivery
- Post the main greeting on the morning of 23 February (a Tuesday in 2027) with a short, sincere text
- On 24 February thank customers and reshare photos of gifts, with permission
What to check afterwards
- Orders, certificate sales and bookings that came through gift-guide links
- Saves and shares of the guide
- Messages asking for gift advice, which show real purchase intent
