What it is
In Russia and several neighbouring countries spring is counted from 1 March by calendar tradition, which means the first spring day is the meteorological start of the season. In practice it is still cold in many regions, but the date is a clear signal that the season is changing.
For businesses it is a fresh start: update your visuals, launch a spring collection or menu and clear out last season’s items. The 8 March holiday follows a week later, so many brands link the two moments.

Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: spring in a photo and the reality of puddles and a winter coat. It is relatable, so link it to your seasonal offer.
- Winter vs spring wardrobe. A before/after format that shows a heavy coat and a light jacket, with a caption about what you offer for the new season.
What to avoid
- Do not show summer-like weather if your audience is still in snow; keep the tone “almost spring”
- Do not mix the day with 8 March messaging before it is time; keep a separate plan for that holiday
- Do not overload the feed with clearance banners; one clear message is enough
When to post
- Prepare the visuals and the new range in the last week of February
- Publish in the morning of 1 March (a Monday in 2027), and keep a spring theme in Stories for the week
- A week later, move to 8 March content and reuse spring visuals
What to check afterwards
- Saves and shares of the new-season posts
- Traffic or orders to the new collection or menu
- Replies to polls, which show which products people want most
