TikTok3–8%4–9%views
Facebook0.5–1.5%1–4%reach
LinkedIn1–3%2–5%impressions

Pinterest0.3–1%1–3%impressions
Telegram0.5–2%1–3%post views

These are typical ranges we see for small and mid-size business accounts, in line with public industry reports. They are guides, not norms: niche, account size and content format shift them. Small accounts usually have a higher ER than big ones.

Better numbers

Three rules for honest ER

Saves and shares weigh more

A like costs nothing. A save or a share means the post was useful. Watch these two first when comparing posts.

Compare like with like

Reels, carousels and single photos have different ER. Compare a Reel with your other Reels, not with a photo.

Count after 48 hours

Most reactions come in the first two days. Measure every post at the same age, or the numbers will drift.

Stop counting ER by hand

AI SMM analytics shows reach and engagement for every post on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest in one dashboard.

Questions

How is engagement rate calculated?

ER = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ followers × 100%. For several posts, divide the total by the number of posts first. ER by reach uses reach (or views) instead of followers.

Which formula is better: by followers or by reach?

By followers is easy to compare with other accounts, because follower count is public. By reach is more honest about the content itself, because it counts only people who saw the post.

What is ERR?

ERR (engagement rate by reach) is the same as ER by reach. In Telegram people often use ERR to mean views ÷ subscribers — that is a different metric about how many subscribers see posts.

Where do the benchmark ranges come from?

They are typical ranges for small and mid-size business accounts, consistent with public industry reports. Treat them as a guide: your niche and audience size matter more.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send the numbers to any server.
