AI agent

An AI agent is a program built on a language model that can take a goal, break it into steps and use tools to complete them: look up data, fill in a form, build a sequence of messages or hand the task to a person. A regular chatbot answers one message at a time; an agent works towards an outcome.

For a small business, agents take over routine work that used to need a specialist or hours of clicking. The key is control: a good agent shows what it did and why, works inside clear limits and asks a human when it is not sure.

Example: a tutor writes, “When someone sends the word ‘trial’, offer three free time slots, book the lesson and remind them a day before.” An agent turns that sentence into a working chat funnel with the right blocks already connected.
