What it is
National Siblings Day is an American observance on 10 April that celebrates brothers and sisters. It is usually linked to a grassroots campaign by a woman who wanted to honour her own siblings, and it is not an official public holiday.
On social media people post childhood photos and tag their siblings, which makes it an easy, warm day for family brands, kids' businesses and gift shops.
Symbols: Childhood photos, matching outfits, shared toys, a “best friends since birth” mug
Emoji: 👫 👭 👬 🧸 💛 🎁
Colours: Warm yellow, sky blue, coral
Hashtags: #SiblingsDay #NationalSiblingsDay #BrothersAndSisters #FamilyLove #TagYourSibling
What to aim for
- Drive tags and shares as people mention siblings
- Show the family side of your brand
- Sell paired gifts, matching sets or shared experiences

- “Gift ideas for two”: one slide per paired gift from your range

- A “send this to your sibling” sticker with a gift idea behind it

Happy Siblings Day to everyone who shares a room, a toy box and the last biscuit. We have put together matching sets for brothers and sisters, cosy enough for the garden and the sofa. Tag your favourite sibling in the comments and tell us who is the troublemaker. We will pick a pair to feature in our stories.
It is Siblings Day, so a small invitation: bring your brother or sister to our café today and sit at the long table by the window. No agenda, just a hot drink and a chance to remember the silly things you did as kids. Tell us the funniest childhood story you share with your sibling.
Siblings Day is here and our team is sharing childhood photos that nobody asked for. Now it is your turn: post a photo of you and your brother or sister and tell us how you annoyed each other. The best story gets a mention in our weekend post. Be kind to each other in the comments, it is family after all.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: siblings posing lovingly for a photo and the real moment a second earlier. Keep it affectionate and recognisable.
- Which child are you. A grid of birth-order personalities (oldest, middle, youngest, only child) with a funny line for each. Ask people to tag a sibling who fits.
What to avoid
- Remember that not everyone has a sibling or a good relationship with one; invite friends and cousins as “chosen siblings” so nobody feels left out
- Do not publish children’s photos without parental consent
- Do not pressure people to buy gifts; keep the offer an idea, not a demand
When to post
- Prepare a throwback post and a Reel a few days earlier
- Publish on 10 April; in 2027 it falls on a Saturday, so mid-morning works well for family time
- On Sunday, reshare the best tagged photos to your stories
What to check afterwards
- Tags, shares and comments, which are the real goal of this day
- Saves of gift-idea carousels
- Orders or enquiries for paired gifts or sets, if you offer them
