What it is
Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed on the first Monday of September. It honours the contribution of workers and the labour movement, and it became a national holiday in the late 19th century.
Today it is also seen as the unofficial end of summer and a long weekend with many sales, family barbecues and trips, so retailers and service businesses treat it as a major period.

Happy Labor Day! Today we want to thank the people who pack your orders, answer your messages and keep the warehouse running. This weekend our team is working a little less, so delivery will follow the schedule posted in our bio. If you are planning a long weekend, take a look at our new picks and have a wonderful holiday.
On Labor Day we want to thank everyone who works hard, behind the scenes and in front of clients. A project is never done by one person: designers, developers, account managers and support all matter. We are taking a long weekend to rest and will be back on Tuesday. What would you like to say thank you to your team for?
Labor Day weekend is here. Our showroom is open on Saturday and Sunday, closed on Monday for the holiday, and online orders are accepted all weekend. If you are planning to refresh your home before autumn, come and see our new arrivals. Our team will gladly help you choose. Check the schedule below and we look forward to seeing you.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the relaxing long weekend you plan and the real one with chores and traffic. Self-ironic and relatable.
- Last weekend of summer. A short clip or image with a caption about trying to fit the entire summer into one weekend. Keep it light and about the season, not about any group of people.
What to avoid
- Do not turn the day into a pure sales banner; start with gratitude to workers, then mention the offer
- Do not joke about people who have to work on the holiday or about job losses
- Do not promise sale terms you have not confirmed with your team; state dates and exclusions clearly
When to post
- Prepare the schedule and offer two weeks ahead; announce holiday hours the week before
- Publish the thank-you on the morning of Labor Day; in 2027 it falls on 6 September
- On Tuesday, share a recap of the weekend and thank customers who ordered
What to check afterwards
- Weekend orders or visits compared with a normal weekend
- Engagement on the team thank-you post
- Questions about delivery or hours, to improve next year’s holiday notice
