What it is
Day of Knowledge is observed on 1 September in Russia, Kazakhstan and several other post-Soviet countries as the start of the school year. It is usually traced back to the Soviet era and is marked with school ceremonies, flowers for teachers and the first bell.
For businesses it is one of the busiest family moments of the year: parents buy supplies, children start new courses and teachers receive thanks.

Congratulations on the Day of Knowledge to students, parents and teachers! A new school year is a fresh start, and we wish every child curiosity and every teacher patient, grateful pupils. If you would like extra support this year, write to us and we will help you choose a course. And please share your own first-day photo in the comments.
The Day of Knowledge is tomorrow, and a short checklist may help: notebooks and pens for the first weeks, a backpack that fits your child’s height, a pencil case, a diary and a water bottle. Our catalogue has everything in one place. Write to us the child’s age and grade, and we will help you put together a basic set.
The first weeks of school can be tiring for children and for parents. Our team suggests a gentle start: a regular bedtime, a calm morning, a short walk after classes and time to talk about the day. If your child would like activities after school, we are holding a trial session this week. Write to us in the comments to learn more.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the perfect family photo on the first day of school and the real picture, with a flower bouquet half-eaten by the dog. Keep it warm and about the family, not the child’s mistakes.
- Parent’s morning. A short clip with captions on the stages of a morning before school: alarm, backpack, forgotten shoes, last-minute photo. Light, relatable and affectionate.
What to avoid
- Do not make jokes at the expense of children, teachers or families; keep the tone friendly
- Do not build pressure around school results or exclude families who cannot afford supplies
- Do not publish photos of children without parents’ clear consent
When to post
- Start the back-to-school campaign in mid-August and post the checklist before the end of the month
- Publish the greeting early on 1 September; in 2027 it falls on a Wednesday
- A few days later, publish a post about adapting to the school routine and invite parents to ask questions
What to check afterwards
- Saves and shares of the checklist posts
- Sign-ups for courses, trial lessons or school-supply orders
- Comments from parents with questions, a sign of what to cover next
