What it is
International Day of Friendship is observed on 30 July. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011 as a way to promote understanding between people and cultures through friendship.
Do not confuse it with other friendship days in individual countries. On social media it is one of the warmest and easiest days: tags, shared photos and “bring a friend” ideas work for almost any business.
Symbols: Two cups of coffee, friendship bracelets, a hug, a shared bench, a handwritten note
Emoji: 🤝 💛 ☕ 🫶 🎉 📸
Colours: Warm yellow, coral, soft blue
Hashtags: #FriendshipDay #InternationalDayOfFriendship #BestFriends #BringAFriend #FriendsForever
What to aim for
- Reach new people through tags and shares that friends send each other
- Bring pairs of customers with a simple “come together” offer
- Show the human side of the team and its friendships
Post ideas by format

- “Tag the friend you would share this with” using your best product or dish
- A thank-you post from the team to a client who has been with you from the start, with their consent

- “Friendships at our company”: slides with short stories from the team, each with a photo
Reel / short video
- Hook: “Send this to the friend who always orders the same.” Short clips of the funniest friend habits
- Two friends try the same product and react in turn
Stories

Happy Friendship Day! Some people are the reason our coffee tastes better. Tag the friend you always meet here, or the one you have not seen for too long, and tell us your favourite shared moment. On the weekend, come with a friend and we will add a small treat to your table. Good friends deserve a good table.
It is International Day of Friendship. Studies are not needed to know it: it is easier to start with someone beside you. This week, come with a friend to a group class and we will help you to book places together. Write your friend’s name in the chat, and we will remind you both about the lesson.
International Day of Friendship reminds us that many good teams start with good relationships. Some of our best projects began as a coffee conversation between two colleagues who trusted each other. Thank you to everyone who helps others at work without being asked. Tell us about a colleague who became a friend and what they taught you.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Friends vs reality. Two panels: how we think we look as a team of friends versus how we look at 8 a.m. Monday. Keep it self-ironic and warm.
- Send this to your friend. A short meme about a funny friend habit, such as “the friend who is always five minutes away”. The goal is that people share it directly to each other.
What to avoid
- Do not turn the day into a sales banner; a small “bring a friend” benefit is enough
- Do not use stock photos of friends laughing at a salad; use real people from your place
- Do not mention a real person’s friendship or relationship without their consent
When to post
- Prepare photos and the “bring a friend” detail a week ahead so that it can be honoured
- Publish in the morning of 30 July and remind in Stories in the evening
- The day after, repost tagged photos and thank the friends who came together
What to check afterwards
- Tags, shares and sends to friends, which are the main value of the day
- New followers and visits from tagged posts
- Number of pairs who used the “bring a friend” offer
