What it is
International Tiger Day, also called Global Tiger Day, is observed on 29 July to raise awareness of tiger conservation. It is usually linked to a 2010 international summit on tigers held in Saint Petersburg, where countries with wild tigers agreed to work to protect them.
In Russia the day is closely tied to the Amur tiger, a symbol of the Far East. Businesses working with children, pets and travel use it for facts, drawings and, where possible, support for conservation projects.
Symbols: Orange and black stripes, a paw print, a tiger cub, a forest in the Far East
Emoji: 🐯 🌲 🐾 🧡 🌍 📚
Colours: Orange, black, forest green
Hashtags: #InternationalTigerDay #GlobalTigerDay #AmurTiger #WildlifeForKids #SaveTheTiger

Today is International Tiger Day, so let’s meet the biggest wild cat on the planet: the Amur tiger. Its stripes are like fingerprints, no two are the same. Ask your child to draw their own tiger and send it to us in Direct. With permission, we will show the best drawings in our Stories tomorrow.
Every cat at home is a tiny tiger: the same hunting instinct, the same love of a good nap. For International Tiger Day we invite you to share a photo of your striped cat in a pose that deserves a jungle. We will post our favourite pictures, and every like will remind us that the real tigers need our care.
Today is International Tiger Day, so we are turning a plain face into a tiger in fifteen seconds. Watch the stripes appear, then tell us which animal we should paint next. Comment with your idea. Parents, a quick tip: use face paint made for children and always do a small skin test first.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Big cat, small cat. A side-by-side picture of a tiger and a house cat in the same pose. It is a gentle joke that fits pets and kids’ brands.
- Which animal are you today?. A light personality-style format for the team or audience. Keep the descriptions warm and never mock any person or the animals’ situation.
What to avoid
- Do not use real facts you have not checked; keep to well-known, sourced information about tigers
- Do not promise that a purchase will “save tigers” unless you can name the project and the amount of support
- Do not use wild-animal photos taken in captivity or in circumstances that could be harmful to the animals
When to post
- Prepare the facts and sources a week ahead and double-check the numbers or avoid them
- Publish in the morning of 29 July so that families can see it before the day’s activities
- The day after, share the drawings and, if you collected support, report how it was passed on
What to check afterwards
- Shares of the facts carousel with parents and teachers
- Number of drawings or photos you received
- Visits or bookings of the workshop or activity linked to the post
