What it is
Airborne Forces Day, known in Russia as Den VDV, is observed on 2 August. It honours servicemen and veterans of the Russian Airborne Forces and is usually linked to the first Soviet airborne exercise of 1930. It is widely marked by the paratroopers themselves and their families.
It is a respectful military day. For most businesses the right approach is a short, sincere greeting for clients, colleagues and veterans who are connected to it, not a campaign.

On Airborne Forces Day we say thank you to veterans and servicemen, and to their relatives who waited for them at home. We know that behind every date there is a person and a family. We wish you good health, steady footing and many peaceful days. We are glad to have you among our clients and neighbours.
What to avoid
- Do not use jokes, memes or playful pictures; this is a day of respect for servicemen and veterans
- Do not turn the day into a promotion; if you have a benefit for veterans, mention it quietly and sincerely
- Do not discuss politics or current events; keep the greeting about people and gratitude
When to post
- Prepare the greeting a few days ahead and agree on names with the people you mention
- Publish in the morning of 2 August; one calm post is enough
- The day after, return to usual content and answer personal messages with care
What to check afterwards
- Quality of replies and thanks rather than reach
- Personal messages from clients or veterans, which you should answer personally
- Any negative comments, to adjust the tone for next year
