What it is
International Chefs Day is observed on 20 October. It is usually linked to the World Association of Chefs' Societies, which promotes the profession and encourages chefs to share their skills, especially with children.
For cafés and restaurants it is a day to put the person behind the menu in front of the camera: introduce your chef, show the craft and share a small, honest piece of professional advice.

Today is International Chefs Day, and we want you to meet the person who opens the kitchen before anyone else. Our chef has been cooking for years and still tastes every sauce at the start of service. Tonight there is a chef's special that he is quietly proud of. Come and try it, and tell us in the comments what you would like to ask him.
Our chef has one rule for home cooks: taste while you cook, not only at the end. In this short video he shows how a pinch of salt at the right moment changes a simple soup. Happy International Chefs Day to everyone who works in a kitchen. Send this to the person who cooks for you.
On International Chefs Day, a thank-you to our kitchen team. Behind every event menu there are long hours of planning, tasting and small adjustments that guests never see. This year the team trained two new cooks and refined our seasonal menu. If you manage events, what is the one thing you check first in a caterer's kitchen?
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. A perfect plated dish from a menu photo against the chaos of the kitchen at the peak of service. Keep the joke warm and respectful to the cooks.
- Chef reacts. A short clip of the chef’s facial reaction to a typical guest request, with a text overlay. Only do this if the chef agrees and the requests are not offensive.
What to avoid
- Do not mock guests or their orders; keep the joke on the kitchen, not on customers
- Do not claim awards, stars or training you cannot show
- Do not show kitchen hygiene shortcuts or unsafe knife handling in videos
When to post
- Shoot the chef content 3–5 days before so it can be edited calmly
- Publish on 20 October in the morning; in 2026 it falls on a Tuesday, a normal service day
- Share the best guest questions in the following week as a short answer series
What to check afterwards
- Questions sent to the chef: they show real interest
- Bookings or orders for the chef's special
- Saves and shares of the tips carousel or Reel
