What it is
The International Day of Education is observed on 24 January. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 and has been marked since 2019, highlighting the role of education in peace and development.
For schools, courses, tutors and edtech teams it is a natural moment to share something useful for free and to tell honest stories about learning.

What to aim for
- Build authority with free, useful learning content
- Bring new students into the funnel with a mini-lesson or a trial
- Show real learning stories that build trust
Post ideas by format
Post
- A free mini-lesson in one post: one idea from your course explained in five lines
- A short story of a student, told with their permission, about what changed after learning a skill
Carousel
- “10 free resources for learning [your subject]”: one resource per slide with one line why it is good
- A study plan in 5 slides: week one to week five, with one realistic goal each
Reel / short video
- Hook: “Learn this in 30 seconds.” A teacher explains one tricky concept with a simple example
- A day-in-the-life reel of a teacher or a student, with captions about what they learn today
Stories
- A quiz of three questions from your course with answers revealed in the next story
- A question box: “What is the one skill you want to learn this year?”, with answers shared the next day

Happy International Day of Education! We are sharing a free mini-lesson in our stories today: five minutes, one useful idea, no sign-up. If you have always wanted to start learning something new, take this as a sign. Tell us in the comments which skill you want to learn this year and we will prepare a mini-lesson for the most popular topic.
For children, learning begins with a question. This Education Day we collected five questions kids often ask and short, simple ways to answer them at home. No special equipment needed: just a few minutes and a little curiosity. Save the post for a rainy afternoon and tell us the funniest question your child has asked recently. We would love to read them.
Over the years of teaching, the biggest lesson for us has been that explaining a topic is the fastest way to understand it. On International Day of Education, we are publishing a free list of the resources we recommend to beginners in our field, and the mistakes we wish we had avoided. Share your own favourite learning resource in the comments, and we will add the best ones to the list.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Show the planned study schedule next to the real one with a lot of snacks and a lot of tabs open. Make the joke about everybody’s study habits, kindly.
- Student brain. Describe a simple panel layout with your own drawings: one panel with the lesson, another with the thoughts about the weekend. Keep it light and avoid targeting individual students.
What to avoid
- Do not use the day only to push a paid course; lead with something genuinely free and useful
- Do not promise exact results, such as a job or a salary, without evidence you can show
- Do not share student stories or photos without clear permission, and be careful with children’s data
When to post
- Prepare the mini-lesson and the resource list a week before; 24 January 2027 is a Sunday
- Publish in the morning, with the quiz in stories during the day
- On Monday, send an email or message to those who took the mini-lesson and invite them to your next free session
What to check afterwards
- Saves and shares of the carousel and mini-lesson, which show learning value
- Replies to the question about the skill people want to learn
- Sign-ups for the free lesson or trial in the next week
