What it is
International Tea Day is observed on 21 May. It was designated by the United Nations in 2019 to recognise the cultural and economic importance of tea and the people who grow it. Before that, some tea-producing countries marked their own tea days at other dates.
For cafés, tea shops and online stores it is a natural day: tastings, brewing guides, new blends and polls about favourite teas. The day also suits wellness, hotels and gift brands.

Today is International Tea Day, and we invite you to a quiet tea hour. We offer a small tasting of three teas with a story for each one, served in warm cups. Tell the barista which flavour you like, and we will choose your set. Share a photo of your cup and tag a friend who always says coffee is better.
On International Tea Day we made a short guide to choosing tea: black for mornings, green for afternoons, herbal for evenings and oolong for slow weekends. Open the catalogue from the menu button and answer three questions in the chat about the flavour you like, and we will suggest a tasting set that suits you.
To celebrate International Tea Day, our guests are invited to afternoon tea in the lobby. A selection of teas, a view of the garden and a quiet corner to read or to talk. No reservation is needed, but we recommend asking at the reception for a table. Tell us in the comments the tea you would like on our menu.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Tea or coffee. A simple choice meme with two options and your team split between them. Invite followers to vote in Stories and share the result the next day.
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the calm elegant tea ceremony in your head and the real one with the tea bag stuck to the mug. Self-ironic and affectionate.
What to avoid
- Do not claim health benefits or healing effects of tea; keep to taste, mood and culture
- Do not make fun of people who prefer coffee; keep the debate friendly
- Do not use country stereotypes about tea traditions
When to post
- Prepare the tasting set or the new blend two weeks ahead
- Publish in the morning of 21 May and run the poll in Stories during the day
- The day after, share the poll results and thank people for the tasting photos
What to check afterwards
- Poll votes and comments on the tea or coffee debate
- Sales of the tasting set or the blend you featured
- Saves of the brewing guide
