What it is

Russian Entrepreneurship Day is a professional day observed on 26 May. It was established in Russia in the 2000s as an official occasion to recognise people who run their own business, and it is usually marked with forums, awards and greetings from business associations and local authorities.

For small businesses, experts and agencies it is a good moment for honest storytelling: how the business started, what the first year taught, and who helped along the way. The best posts are specific and human, not full of grand words.

Symbols: A first sign above the door, a notebook with plans, a handshake, a coffee on a long day, a first customer’s receipt

Emoji: 🚀 💼 🤝 📈 ☕ 🏆

Colours: Deep blue, warm orange, off-white

Hashtags: #EntrepreneurshipDay #SmallBusiness #Entrepreneur #StartupStory #BusinessLessons

What to aim for

  • Trust: tell the real story of your business and the people behind it
  • Networking: congratulate partners and tag them, which brings reciprocal reach
  • Expertise: share useful lessons that other entrepreneurs can use

Three lessons from year one

Russian Entrepreneurship Day is a good moment to look back. Our first year taught us three things: talk to customers before building anything, write down every agreement and never underestimate the support of partners. Thank you to everyone who worked with us at the very beginning. What would you tell yourself on the first day of your business?

How our café began

Seven years ago this was an empty room and a coffee machine we barely knew how to use. Today we say thank you to the first guests, to the neighbours who brought chairs and to every barista who stayed with us. Happy Entrepreneurship Day to everyone building something of their own. Tell us in the comments what your business started with.

Congratulations, partners

Today we congratulate the entrepreneurs we work with: the supplier who delivers on time, the designer who understands us in one sentence and the courier who never disappears. A business is a chain of people who keep their promises. We tag our partners in the next post, and we invite you to tag the people who helped you in the comments.

Meme and trend formats that fit

  • Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the dream of the first day as an entrepreneur and the real day with spreadsheets and a broken printer. Self-ironic and friendly.
  • What my friends think I do. A grid of how friends, family, customers and you yourself imagine your job. It shows the real work in a light way.

What to avoid

  • Do not give financial, tax or legal advice unless you are qualified and name your limits
  • Do not promise income or growth, and do not use “get rich” language
  • Do not tell success stories with invented numbers; real small details are better

When to post

  • Write the story and ask partners for permission to mention them a week ahead
  • Publish on the morning of 26 May and tag your partners in the post
  • The day after, answer the comments and thank those who shared their stories

What to check afterwards

  • Comments and reshares from other entrepreneurs
  • New followers and profile visits from LinkedIn
  • Messages from people asking for advice or cooperation
