What it is
The Spring Bank Holiday is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, held on the last Monday of May. It gives people a long weekend at the start of the warmer season, and it is usually spent outdoors with family and friends.
For small businesses it is a practical and cheerful date: customers want to know opening hours, look for garden and picnic ideas and are open to a friendly seasonal offer.
Symbols: Garden chairs, a barbecue, a picnic blanket, blossom, a seaside day out

Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Left: a sunny barbecue in a magazine. Right: the same barbecue under an umbrella. Fit it to your product, for example a garden centre selling parasols or a cafe with indoor seating.
- British weather joke. A relatable post about the weather changing four times in a single afternoon, followed by your practical solution, such as an indoor table or a rain-proof plan.
What to avoid
- Do not forget to state exact opening hours and the Monday closure; customers will blame you if they travel to a shut door
- Do not over-promise delivery dates over a long weekend when couriers are slower
- Avoid stock sunny photos if the real weather is bad; honest humour about rain works better
When to post
- Post opening hours at least a week ahead and repeat them in Stories two days before
- Publish the main offer on Thursday or Friday, when people start planning the weekend
- On Tuesday, thank customers and share photos of the weekend
What to check afterwards
- Visits, orders and bookings for the weekend compared with a normal weekend
- Saves and shares of the carousel or Pinterest pin
- Messages asking for opening hours: if they continue, make the hours easier to find
