What it is
World Bicycle Day is observed on 3 June. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 to recognise the bicycle as a simple, affordable, reliable and environmentally friendly means of transport.
Bike shops, tour operators, cafes along cycling routes and fitness studios use it to invite people to ride, to share routes and to show how small everyday choices can make a city friendlier.
Symbols: A bicycle, a helmet, a bell, a cycle path, a picnic basket, a map with a route
Emoji: 🚲 🌳 🛣️ ⛑️ 🔔 🌤️

It is World Bicycle Day, and a quick check can save your weekend ride. Look at the tyres, squeeze the brakes, spin the chain and test the lights. In the carousel we show how it is done step by step. Save it for the season, share it with a friend who rides, and come to the shop if something sounds wrong.
To mark World Bicycle Day we have chosen a calm weekend route: river embankment, a quiet forest road and a lunch stop with a view. It is suitable for beginners, and you can ride at your own pace. We shared the map in the next message. Tell us which direction you would like to ride next, and we will plan a group trip.
Today is World Bicycle Day, and we love guests who arrive on two wheels. We have a safe place to leave your bike near the entrance, a water station for riders and a cold drink if you need it after a long road. Tell us in the comments about your favourite route in our area, and we will share the best ones.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Left: a cyclist gliding on a clean path. Right: the same cyclist waiting at a traffic light with a heavy bag. Keep it good-humoured and not critical of any city or group.
- Two buttons. A generic two-button choice: “ride today” or “find an excuse”. It can lead naturally into a call to join a group ride.
What to avoid
- Do not show riding without helmets or in risky traffic; safety content is part of the message
- Do not offer a discount that depends on proof of arrival by bike unless you can check it fairly at the till
- Avoid attacking drivers or other road users; keep the tone positive and inclusive
When to post
- Plan routes and photos two weeks ahead, since weather can change the schedule
- Publish in the morning of 3 June so people can plan an evening ride or a weekend trip
- After the day, share rider photos and thank the people who joined
What to check afterwards
- Visits or bookings from the day compared with a normal day
- Saves of the route or checklist content
- New followers and comments with route suggestions, a good source of ideas for future posts
