What it is

The International Day of Happiness is observed on 20 March. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly, which recognised happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations of people everywhere.

For brands it is one of the easiest days to join: it needs no special product, only a warm, honest tone and a small gesture.

Symbols: A smile, sunshine, balloons, a small gift, yellow flowers

A small joy today

Happiness is often small: the first sip of coffee, a warm window seat, a message from a friend. Today we are hiding a little handwritten note in some of our takeaway cups. Tell us in the comments what small thing made you happy this week, and we will share the nicest answers in Stories. Have a gentle, sunny day.

What makes our team happy at work

On the International Day of Happiness we asked our team what makes a working day good. The answers were simple: clear priorities, kind feedback, a day without back-to-back calls and a thank-you from a client. None of them cost anything. What makes a good working day for you? Tell us in the comments.

Meme and trend formats that fit

  • Things that made me happy today. A list-style post with tiny joys that people recognise, like a quiet commute or a warm mug. Invite followers to add their own in the comments.
  • Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the grand idea of happiness and the simple moment that actually delivers it, like a good snack. End the caption with a warm line.

What to avoid

  • Do not tell people to “just be happy”; it can sound dismissive for those who are struggling
  • Do not make happiness depend on buying your product; keep the offer secondary
  • Do not use stock smiling-people photos; one real moment from your team is better

When to post

  • Prepare the small surprise and the team photos a week ahead
  • Publish in the morning; in 2027 the date is a Saturday, so light and casual content suits
  • The day after, share the replies and thank everyone who joined

What to check afterwards

  • Comments and replies to the “what made you happy” question
  • Shares of the joy list, since they spread among friends
  • Positive messages or reviews mentioning the surprise
