What it is
Russia Day is a public holiday observed on 12 June. It is usually linked to the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation in 1990, and the holiday in its present name has been marked since the late 1990s.
It is a day off, often part of a long weekend, so for businesses it is above all a practical occasion: working hours, delivery timing, weekend offers and respectful greetings to customers.
Symbols: The tricolour flag, birch trees, a map, the Kremlin towers, wheat fields
Emoji: 🇷🇺 🌾 🏙️ 🎆 🤝 ☀️
Colours: White, blue, red
Hashtags: #ДеньРоссии #12июня #РоссияДома #ДлинныеВыходные #СДнёмРоссии
What to aim for
- Tell customers clearly how you work during the holiday
- Offer something useful for the long weekend: a travel idea, a menu, an event
- Show your local roots through local products, suppliers or team stories

Happy Russia Day! Our team wishes everyone peace, warm weather and a good long weekend. On the holiday we are open from 10 to 22, and the terrace is ready for guests. We have prepared a seasonal menu with local products. Tell us in the comments where you are going for the holiday, and we will pick a few places to share.
A note for the holiday weekend: orders placed until noon on the day before will be sent as usual, and orders placed later will be packed and handed to the courier on the first working day. We wish you a calm, sunny day off. If you need to receive a parcel before the holiday, write to us in this chat and we will tell you what is possible.
Russia Day weekend is a good time for a short trip. We collected four ideas for people who want to go somewhere nearby: a river trip, a historical town, a hiking trail and a spa weekend. Tell us your starting city and how many days you have, and our team will suggest a route and help check transport and hotels.
What to avoid
- Do not use state symbols as decoration for a sale banner or on packaging without checking the rules for their use
- Do not make politically sharp or ironic posts; a simple warm greeting and practical information are enough
- Do not forget to state clearly the working hours, delivery timing and the first working day after the holiday
When to post
- Agree the holiday schedule with the team a couple of weeks ahead and publish it at least a week before
- Publish the greeting on the morning of 12 June, and the schedule reminder one or two days earlier
- The day after the holidays, post that you are back and share any changes to delivery or bookings
What to check afterwards
- Questions about working hours and delivery: if there are many, make the schedule easier to find
- Orders and bookings for the long weekend compared with other long weekends
- Saves and shares of the “where to go” carousel
