What it is
World Thank You Day, observed on 11 January, is an informal awareness day about saying thank you more often. It has no single official organiser, and it is usually described as a gentle reminder to express gratitude to the people around us.
For businesses it is one of the easiest days to use: a sincere thank-you to customers, a spotlight on loyal clients and a call for followers to thank someone all fit naturally.
Symbols: A handwritten card, a heart, a small bouquet, a hand on the heart, a warm cup of tea
Emoji: 🙏 💛 🤝 ✉️ 🌷 😊
Colours: Warm yellow, soft pink, cream
Hashtags: #WorldThankYouDay #ThankYou #Gratitude #CustomerAppreciation #SmallBusiness
What to aim for
- Strengthen loyalty by saying thank you in a real, personal way
- Collect user-generated content: stories, photos and reviews
- Build warmth in the audience at the start of a new year
Post ideas by format
Post
- A thank-you to your customers with one concrete moment from last year, no sales text
- A spotlight on a loyal client or partner, shared only with their consent
Carousel
- “Thank you for…”: one slide per thing, such as feedback, patience, recommendations or ideas
- “Whom would you like to thank today?”: followers’ answers collected in one carousel, with permission
Reel / short video
- Hook: “We never say it enough.” Team members each say a short thank-you to the camera, one per cut
- A video of handwritten thank-you cards being prepared for the first customers of the year
Stories
- A question sticker: “Whom do you want to thank today?” with the best answers reshared
- A “thank-you wall” in stories where you thank followers by name, with their consent

Today is World Thank You Day, and we want to say it clearly: thank you to everyone who came to us again and again, who brought a friend, left a kind note or just said hello at the counter. You are the reason we open the doors every morning. Tell us in the comments whom you want to thank today, and we will send a coffee to one of them.
Today we say thank you to everyone who has ever ordered from us, written a review or asked a question in this channel. Because of you, we learn and improve every month. If you want to share your experience, write a few words under this post, and we will read each one. As a small thank-you, we will add a surprise to some orders this week.
On World Thank You Day, a simple reminder for teams: a specific thank-you is one of the cheapest ways to improve a working relationship. We try to name the exact thing a person did and why it helped. Today, we are thanking our clients, our freelancers and each other. Who helped you in the past year and when did you last tell them?
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Left: a long, formal thank-you letter. Right: a single-word message that still means a lot. Keep it warm and relatable.
- Thank-you chain. A simple chain graphic where each person thanks another, ending with the audience. A friendly format that invites followers to tag someone.
What to avoid
- Do not name customers or share their messages without their clear consent
- Do not turn the thank-you into a disguised sales banner; keep the message sincere and specific
- Do not promise gifts or draws that you cannot fulfil; keep the conditions simple and clear
When to post
- Prepare personal messages and cards a few days earlier
- Publish in the morning of 11 January, ideally when the holiday break is just over and people are back online
- The next day, share the best responses and thank the people who took part
What to check afterwards
- Replies and tags, which show how many people took part
- Mentions or reviews received after the post
- Repeat orders or visits in the following week
