What it is
Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and a bank holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It falls on a different date every year because Easter itself moves; in 2027 it is on 29 March.
For businesses it is a long-weekend day: people are off work, often out with family, and open to ideas for where to go, what to eat and what to do. It is a good day for useful, friendly posts rather than heavy selling.
Symbols: Spring flowers, painted eggs, hot cross buns, family walks, day trips

What to aim for
- Tell customers clearly that you are open (or closed) so they do not walk away disappointed
- Fill a quiet long-weekend day with visits, bookings or orders
- Build a warm, local, family-friendly image
Post ideas by format

- A simple “We are open today, here are our hours” post with one cheerful photo of the place
- A short list of three easy things to do nearby on a bank holiday, with your business as one stop

- Hook: “Bank holiday plans? Here is ours.” Fifteen seconds of the team getting ready for the day
- A quick egg-hunt in your shop or venue: “Find the egg and show it at the till”, filmed in one take

Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the productive bank holiday you planned and the day spent on the sofa with chocolate. Tie it to your product, for example a café as the only productive stop.
- Which one are you. A four-option picture of bank holiday personalities (early walker, brunch person, sofa champion, last-minute shopper) and ask people to comment their pick.
What to avoid
- Do not forget to state your real opening hours; a missing line causes more complaints than any joke helps
- Do not mix the day with religious content unless it fits your brand; keep the tone friendly and secular
- Avoid shouting “BANK HOLIDAY SALE” with no detail; if you have an offer, state its terms clearly
When to post
- Publish the opening-hours post on Good Friday or earlier so people can plan the weekend
- Post your main piece in the morning of 29 March, before people leave the house
- On Tuesday, thank visitors and share a photo or two from the day
What to check afterwards
- Saves of the hours post, a sign people are planning to visit
- Direction requests, calls or bookings during the long weekend
- Replies to the poll story and comments on the family-friendly post
