What it is
World Veterinary Day is a professional day for veterinarians, observed on the last Saturday of April. It is usually linked to the World Veterinary Association and highlights the work vets do for animal health, welfare and public health.
Clinics, pet shops and groomers use it to thank their vets, introduce the team to clients and share practical advice for pet owners.

Ready-made post examples

Today is World Veterinary Day, and we want you to meet the people behind the white coats. Swipe to see our doctors, what they love about their work and the pets who make them smile. Thank you to every owner who trusts us. Have a question for our team? Leave it in the comments and a vet will answer.
For World Veterinary Day we asked our partner vets for a short checklist for every owner: a thermometer, sterile gauze, saline solution and your vet’s number saved in the phone. Keep it in one box. This is not a replacement for a doctor, so call a vet when in doubt. What else do you keep in your pet box?
Our groomers see many pets every day, and when something does not look right we send owners to the vets we trust. On World Veterinary Day we thank them for the care they give. If your pet is due for a check-up, today is a good reminder to book. Send us a message if you need a recommendation nearby.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: a calm pet in the waiting room as the owner imagines and the real moment with a trembling dog under the chair. Make it kind towards pets and owners.
- Vet translator. A captioned image of what the pet says and what the vet understands. Keep the joke warm and never mock owners’ worries.
What to avoid
- Do not give diagnoses or treatment advice for specific pets in comments; direct owners to an appointment
- Do not publish photos of patients without the owner’s permission
- Avoid discount banners that could encourage skipping an exam; offer reminders and information instead
When to post
- Ask the vets for their approval of profile texts a week ahead
- Publish on Saturday 24 April, 2027, since the day itself falls on the last Saturday of the month
- On Monday, answer the questions you collected and remind people to book check-ups
What to check afterwards
- Saves of the first-aid checklist and other advice posts
- Appointment bookings and calls after the posts
- Questions from owners that show topics for future content
