What it is
International Dance Day is observed on 29 April, the birthday of the French ballet master Jean-Georges Noverre, who is often called the father of modern ballet. The day is supported by UNESCO and celebrates dance in all its forms, from classical to street.
Studios, schools and fitness brands use it to open their doors, run free taster classes and show the community that anyone can dance.

What to aim for
- Bring newcomers into your studio through a free or low-pressure taster class
- Grow reach with a dance reel or challenge
- Show the community, teachers and students
Post ideas by format
Post
- An invitation to a free taster class with level, time and what to wear
- A photo of the teachers with a line about when each of them started dancing
Carousel
- “Which dance style suits you?” five styles, one slide each, with a short description of who enjoys it
- “What to expect at your first class”: step-by-step slides to reduce nerves
Reel / short video
- Hook: “Learn this 15-second move.” A teacher demonstrates slowly, then at speed
- A montage of students of different ages dancing, ending with the invitation to join
Stories
- A poll: “Salsa, hip-hop, ballet or contemporary?”
- A “dance with us” story asking followers to post their own moves

It is International Dance Day, and our studio doors are open. Join us for a free beginner class with our teacher: no experience, no partner and no special shoes needed. Happy International Dance Day! Here is a fifteen-second move that children love: step, clap, spin and a big smile. Learn it with your child, film the result and tag us. We will pick our favourite videos and share them in stories. No perfect steps needed, only good music and a lot of fun.
On International Dance Day our coach is leading a light dance workout open to all levels. It is a fun way to move, even if you have never danced. Bring a friend, wear comfortable clothes and expect a lot of laughter. Message us to book your place, and tell us which song you would add to our playlist.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: you imagine an elegant routine in the mirror and the real attempt in your living room. Keep it self-deprecating and welcoming for beginners.
- When your song comes on. A short clip or caption about the exact moment the favourite song starts at the studio or the office. Works as a Reel with a trending-style cut, never copying someone’s specific meme.
What to avoid
- Do not shame beginners or compare bodies; the day should feel welcoming to every level
- Do not use music or choreography you do not have rights to in ads; use licensed or original tracks
- Do not promise quick results or a stage-ready level after one class
When to post
- Announce the taster class at least a week ahead and limit the group size
- Post the reel and the invitation on the morning of 29 April (a Thursday in 2027)
- On the following days, share photos with participants’ consent and offer a next class
What to check afterwards
- Sign-ups for the taster class and actual attendance
- Views, shares and saves of the dance reel
- How many newcomers booked a second class or a trial course
Add one line about your business: the free generator gives three captions with hashtags for the network you choose. No sign-up.
