What it is
Orthodox Easter is the main feast of the Orthodox Christian year, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. Its date moves every year because it is calculated by the church calendar, and it often differs from the Western Easter. It is widely observed in Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries with Orthodox communities.
Families usually bake kulich, paint eggs and gather at the table. For businesses it is a season of pre-orders, gift boxes and warm greetings, and the tone should be calm, sincere and respectful.
