What it is
World Egg Day is a food-themed day observed on the second Friday of October. It is usually linked to the International Egg Commission, which proposed a day to celebrate eggs as a simple, versatile food.
For businesses it is a cheerful menu and recipe day: cafés, bakeries and food shops use it to show breakfast dishes, share recipes and start easy conversations about how people like their eggs.
Symbols: A fried egg, a soft-boiled egg in an egg cup, a farm basket, a breakfast plate

What to aim for
- Fill the morning with a clear menu offer: an egg dish of the day
- Start a cheap, easy conversation with a poll or a recipe
- Show where your ingredients come from, which builds trust
Post ideas by format
Post
- A photo of the egg dish of the day with one line on how it is cooked and what it comes with
- “Our three favourite ways to cook an egg” in three short lines, one per cook on your team
Carousel
- “Egg, five ways”: one slide per method (soft, poached, scrambled, fried, baked) with a tip for each
- A breakfast menu walk-through: one slide per dish with the base ingredient and what to pair it with
Reel / short video
- Hook: “The secret to a perfect poached egg is not what you think.” Thirty seconds of the process, end on the plated dish
- A close-up of the first crack and the yolk, slow motion, text: “Which side are you on: runny or firm?”
Stories

- Behind the scenes: the kitchen prepares the egg dish of the day, with a “Ask the chef” question sticker

It is World Egg Day, so the kitchen is playing with the humble egg. Today’s special: soft scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough with herbs and a little butter. Happy World Egg Day! Our baker shares a small trick: bring eggs to room temperature before baking and your sponge will be lighter and more even. It takes thirty minutes on the counter and costs nothing. Do you have a baking trick you swear by? Reply here and we will collect the best ones in one post.
Today is World Egg Day, and we want to say thank you to the small farm that supplies our eggs. We know the people who collect them, and we are happy to tell you how they are packed and delivered to our shelves. Come in this week and ask us anything about the farm. We would also love to hear your favourite egg recipe.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- This or that. Two panels with two ways to cook an egg and a question: which team are you on? Works well as a Story poll or a comment-bait post.
- Expectation vs reality. A perfect egg from a recipe photo against the one that came out of your own kitchen on a busy morning. Self-irony is welcome, just keep the joke about the cooking, not about guests.
What to avoid
- Do not claim health benefits or diets for eggs; stick to taste, recipes and sourcing
- Do not add allergy-related jokes; if you mention a dish, be clear about what is in it
- Do not post a plain stock photo of eggs; a real dish from your own kitchen works better
When to post
- Plan the dish and shoot photos two or three days ahead
- Publish early in the morning so the offer reaches people before breakfast; in 2026 the day falls on Friday, 9 October
- The day after, share the poll results or the most creative recipe from the comments
What to check afterwards
- Poll votes and comments: this is a light conversation day
- Saves of the recipe post, which show it was useful
- Orders or visits for the egg dish, if you tracked it with a simple mention at the counter
