What it is
World Music Day, known in France as Fête de la Musique, is held on 21 June. It started in France in 1982 as a festival where amateur and professional musicians play in streets, squares and cafes, and later spread to many countries.
For businesses it is a natural day for playlists, live sets and conversations about what music means to your audience.

Today is World Music Day, so we are opening our playlist to you. These are the songs our baristas actually play in the morning, from slow acoustic tracks to something louder when the rush starts. Save the link in our bio and tell us in the comments which song we are missing. The best suggestion will play on Friday.
In this short lesson, our teacher shows how to play a simple melody on the keyboard in five minutes. No sheet music, just three notes and a steady rhythm. Try it with us and share your version in the comments. If you want to learn more, write to us and we will help you choose a first lesson.
To mark World Music Day, we are hosting an open-mic evening. If you play, sing or just want to listen, come over and join us. Musicians can sign up by writing to the admin in this channel. Bring friends and instruments if you can. Tell us in the comments which song you would like to hear.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Mood-by-time-of-day. A simple graphic that shows different music moods for morning, lunch and evening in your place. Keep it light and about your own playlist.
- Song stuck in my head. A caption image about a tune that will not leave your mind, then ask followers which song they cannot forget. A generic format with no specific copyrighted image.
What to avoid
- Do not use copyrighted tracks in your videos unless you have the right to; use library tracks or the network's own audio tools
- Check local rules for public performance and noise before hosting a live set
- Avoid generic stock images of notes; a real photo of your place with music is better
When to post
- Announce a live set at least a week ahead and confirm musicians
- Publish your playlist in the morning so it can play during the day
- The day after, share clips and thank the musicians
What to check afterwards
- Playlist link clicks and saves
- Attendance or bookings for the live event
- Replies to the favourite-song question and new followers
