What it is
Presidents' Day is a US federal holiday held on the third Monday of February. It is usually linked to the birthday of George Washington, and in everyday speech it has come to honour American presidents more broadly. Many people have a long weekend.
In the US it is also known as a shopping weekend, with sales in retail, furniture, electronics and car dealerships. For other businesses it is mainly a calendar hook: a long weekend, holiday opening hours and a light historical fact.

Meme and trend formats that fit
- Expectation vs reality. Two panels: the long weekend plan and what actually happens, such as errands and cleaning. Use your own product as the solution.
- Fun fact format. A short text-on-photo post with a light historical fact that you have checked and that is related to your product. Keep politics out of it.
What to avoid
- Do not use political opinions or jokes about specific presidents; the day should stay friendly and neutral
- Do not use the word “sale” with unclear terms; state exactly what is on offer and when it ends
- Do not forget holiday hours: a closed shop that looks open damages trust
When to post
- Plan the offer and hours at least a week ahead, and publish the schedule on the Wednesday before
- Post a main announcement on Friday, the day before the weekend (Presidents' Day is on 15 February in 2027), and a reminder on Monday morning
- On Tuesday thank customers and publish a short post about shipping and replies
What to check afterwards
- Orders or bookings during the weekend compared with a normal week
- Link clicks and saves on the offer post
- Questions in DMs about hours, which show whether the schedule was clear
