What it is
The European Day of Languages is observed on 26 September. It is a Council of Europe initiative that celebrates linguistic diversity and encourages people of all ages to learn languages.
Businesses use it to show the languages their team speaks, to promote courses and to share useful phrases for travel and work.

Today is the European Day of Languages, so let us start with hello. Hola, bonjour, ciao, hallo, olá. Each word is a small door into another culture. Save this post and try one phrase today with a friend or colleague. Tell us in the comments which language you want to learn next, and we will make a beginner’s tip for the most popular one.
Going abroad this autumn? Learn these five phrases before you pack: hello, thank you, please, how much, and where is the station. You do not need to be fluent, just polite. Locals often appreciate the effort. Save the video, repeat the phrases on the plane, and tell us in the comments which country you are heading to next.
On the European Day of Languages we remember that a message is only as strong as its understanding. When a company speaks to customers in their own language, instructions become clearer and trust grows. Our team works in several languages, and we love hearing which ones your business needs. Which language would open a new market for you?
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Language-learning struggle. A kind, self-ironic format about the gap between knowing a phrase in class and using it in life. Poke fun at the learner’s situation, never at accents or other languages.
- Guess the word. A short video or story where a word in a foreign language is shown and viewers guess the meaning in comments.
What to avoid
- Do not mock accents, grammar mistakes or any language; keep humour affectionate
- Do not use machine translation for public posts without checking it with a native speaker
- Do not promise fluency in a fixed number of days
When to post
- Collect phrases and check them with native speakers a week ahead
- Publish in the morning of 26 September
- The day after, share the most popular answers and mention which language wins your poll
What to check afterwards
- Saves of the phrase list
- Quiz participation and comments with guesses
- Trial lesson or course enquiries after the post
