What it is
Internet Day in Russia is an informal holiday observed on 30 September. It has been marked since 1998 and is usually linked to the Russian-speaking internet community and early web enthusiasts.
Today it is a light, playful date for online businesses, IT teams and anyone whose work lives on the internet.

Today is Internet Day in Russia. Our product, our team and most of our customers live online. A decade ago we sent files by messenger and kept notes on paper; today much of the work happens in shared tools. Which online tool changed the way you work the most? We are curious to hear your story, and we may feature a few of them.
Happy Internet Day. Our store started as a small page and an inbox, and today you can open the catalogue from the menu, choose a product and write to us in the chat. Thank you for trusting a small team that works online. Tell us in the comments what you buy online most often, and we will pick a topic for the next selection.
Internet Day idea: spend one hour offline and see what changes. We tried it in the office and learned that half of our messages could have been a short call. Not a rule, just an experiment. What would you do with an hour away from screens? Share your answer, and we will try the best idea next week.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Old internet vs now. Two panels: a loading modem-era page versus today’s instant app. Keep it warm and nostalgic, and use your own screenshots or drawings.
- No Wi-Fi panic. A short skit about the reaction of the team when the connection drops for a minute. Keep it light and self-ironic.
What to avoid
- Do not post nostalgia that depends on real old websites or logos you do not own
- Do not turn the day into a hard sale; a small online-only perk is fine only if you actually offer it
- Avoid jokes about security incidents or outages that affected real people
When to post
- Prepare a nostalgia or tools post a few days ahead
- Publish in the morning of 30 September
- The day after, share the best answers to your poll or quiz
What to check afterwards
- Comments and poll votes
- Shares of the story or tools carousel
- Profile visits and new followers from LinkedIn or Telegram posts
