What it is
World Philosophy Day is celebrated by UNESCO on the third Thursday of November, and the first celebration is usually dated to 2002. Its aim is to encourage people of all ages to think critically, ask questions and discuss big ideas together.
In 2026 it falls on 19 November. For businesses, schools and creators it is a chance to ask a thoughtful question, share the values behind the work and start a calm conversation without any selling.

Ready-made post examples

On World Philosophy Day we ask one simple question: what is a good life for you? There is no right answer. Our team has chosen five books that help to think about it, from short introductions to longer reads. Write your own answer in the comments, and we will read every one of them with a cup of tea.
Philosophy may seem far from daily work, but good teams use its habits all the time: they ask why, they listen to the other view and they accept that some questions have no easy answer. On World Philosophy Day, we invite you to share one question that your team discusses regularly. We will collect the most interesting ones in a short post.
A short video for World Philosophy Day: three questions that help us think more clearly. What do I know and how do I know it? What would I do if nobody were watching? What matters to me when I choose? Watch, pause after each question and write your own answer in the comments. We would like to read what you think.
Meme and trend formats that fit
- Deep thoughts at 3 a.m.. A generic format of a person staring at the ceiling with a big question floating above. Pick a light one, such as “Why do I need three coffees to think about the meaning of life?”
- Expectation vs reality. Left: you reading a thick book in a leather chair. Right: you reading a summary on your phone in a queue. A friendly joke about good intentions.
What to avoid
- Do not attribute quotes to famous philosophers unless you have checked the exact wording and the author; many internet quotes are wrong
- Do not make the day heavy or lecture your followers; one good question is better than a long essay
- Do not use the day to promote a worldview, political position or ideology; keep the conversation open
When to post
- Prepare the question and the carousel a week ahead, and choose a calm visual style
- Publish on the morning of Thursday, 19 November; a calm evening story works well as a follow-up
- The day after, reply to thoughtful comments and share a few answers, with permission
What to check afterwards
- Quantity and length of comments, because this day is about conversation
- Saves and shares of the question carousel
- Sign-ups for a discussion club, a course or a newsletter, if you offer one
